Verification supports trust, but no badge removes the need for independent checks.
What we review
A seller may privately submit photo identification and proof-of-ownership material. Authorised staff review evidence before a Verified Owner badge may be applied. Documents are not published with the listing.
What verification does not prove
A badge is not a guarantee of identity, current title, authority to transact, property condition, value, finance, tax outcome or an enquirer’s intentions.
Protect yourself
Never send passwords, one-time codes, banking credentials or deposits in response to an unsolicited message. Do not permit access without appropriate identity and safety arrangements. Keep discussions on recorded channels where practical.
Report concerns
Stop communicating if something appears misleading, urgent or inconsistent. Contact our support team and, where appropriate, NSW Police, Scamwatch, your bank or a qualified legal professional.
